Randall C. “Randy” Weaver, a subsistence hunter, living in the mountains of Boundary County, idaho, sells two shotguns to an undercover agent of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, who had befriended him.  The “friend” insisted the barrels of the shotgun be cut down to a length of one-quarter inch less than the statutorily authorized length.

       [added 1/27/2023]

First of all, the ‘statute’ is a direct violation of the Bill of Rights, secondly Weaver was entrapped as the Feds wanted him to spy on another group of isolationists, and this ‘violation’ was going to be the Fed’s lever.  A dirty business. –– JL
