In an effort to draw attention away from his foreign policy incompetence, Democratic (socialist/fascist) President Carter, at the reconvening of the Democratic 33rd counterfeit CONgress (elected in accordance with the fraudulent 17th amendment) proclaims the “Carter Doctrine”:

If the American hostages are harmed, a severe price will be paid.

· · · · · ·

The Soviet Union must pay a concrete price for their aggression [invasion of Afghanistan].

· · · · · ·

And I have notified the Olympic Committee that with Soviet invading forces in Afghanistan, neither the American people nor I will support sending an Olympic team to Moscow.

· · · · · ·

Let our position be absolutely clear: An attempt by any outside force to gain control of the Persian Gulf region will be regarded as an assault on the vital interests of the United States of America, and such an assault will be repelled by any means necessary, including military force.

· · · · · ·

The United [s]tates will take action consistent with our own laws to assist Pakistan in resisting any outside aggression. … I’m also working, along with the leaders of other nations, to provide additional military and economic aid for Pakistan.

We believe that there are no irreconcilable differences between us and any Islamic nation.  We respect the faith of Islam, and we are ready to cooperate with all Moslem countries.

· · · · · ·

I have determined that the Selective Service System must now be revitalized.  I will send legislation and budget proposals to the Congress next month so that we can begin registration and then meet future mobilization needs rapidly if they arise.
