The New Federalism/New Deal V (1969 – 1974) ends: in a last minute effort to stave off the efforts of leftist members in the house of representatives trying to impeach him over his role in the Watergate cover-up, Republican (fascist/socialist) de facto President Nixon, Esq., signs house resolution 7824, creating the Legal Services Corporation. The LSC is intended assist United states subject/enemy/citizens in need of legal services, who are not able to afford them.
NOTES:
- Such services have traditionally been provided by the American Bar Association, and its state affiliates, which require its members (attorneys) to provide charitable, “pro bono” (without cost) services.
- This was the last statute Nixon signed before resigning from office.
- As an attorney (Officer of the Court) Nixon was ineligible to serve in two branches of government at the same time, according to Article I, Section 6 [Clause 2].
Postscript: One of the many subsequent criticisms of the LSC, by its opponents, is that it spends an inordinate amount of time representing clients, in suits against government agencies to obtain taxpayer-funded benefits.
