NOTES:
- Organizers had originally considered March 21/22 the first day of spring as the date to celebrate Earth Day, but April 22, 1970 was eventually chosen, as it was the 100th anniversary of the birth of Vladimir Ilych Lenin, former dictator of the Soviet Union.
- As an attorney (Officer of the Court) Nelson was ineligible to serve in two branches of government at the same time, according to Article I, Section 6 [Clause 2].
