The seeds of the healthcare crisis are planted: While the army and navy of the United states are in Africa, Europe and the Pacific, fighting “for a world in which this [n]ation, and all that this [n]ation represents, will be safe for our children,” de facto Commander-in-Chief Franklin Roosevelt, Esq., issues Executive Order 9250, establishing the Office of Economic Stabilization for the purpose of restricting wage and price increases.

       NOTES:

  • Businesses that wanted to attracted more productive and talented workers were no longer able to pay them higher monetary compensation. They were forced to substitute medical benefits for higher wages and salaries.  Thus began the bidding war of too many “dollars” chasing too little healthcare.
  • As an attorney (Officer of the Court) Roosevelt was ineligible to serve in two branches of government at the same time, according to Article I, Section 6 [Clause 2].
