The New Deal I (1933 – 1934) ends: former Chairmen John Jacob Raskob and Jouett Shouse, of the Democratic (socialist/fascist) National Committee; John W. Davis and Al Smith, former Democratic candidates for President; former President Irenee du Pont, of the DuPont Chemical; Republican (fascist/socialist) CONgressman James W. Wadsworth, of new york; and Republican former governor Nathan L. Miller, of new york found the Liberty League to oppose any further expansion of the New Deal.

Postscript: No further New Deal I (1933 – 1934) legislation was passed after this date.

NOTE: Most aid under the New Deal I was assigned for political reasons, with most aid going to the states with slight electoral margins for Democratic de facto President Franklin Roosevelt, Esq., in an effort to “buy votes”; whereas the “Solid (Democratic) South” received a bare minimum of economic assistance.  Also, states the were hardest hit by the Great Depression received most of their aid in the form of loans, which had to be paid back; whereas those states that were better off received more outright grants.
