Sheehan Assistant Secretary of Defense (foreign military aggression) for Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict, says that the Authorization to Use Military Force Act of 2001 give the Commander-in-Chief the authority to dispatch troops anywhere “from Boston to FATA [Pakistan’s federally administered tribal areas].”
