The Supreme Court, of the corporate united States, hands down the Legal Tender Cases, overturning Hepburn v. Griswold, which was decided by the Court just 15 months previous.

       NOTE: All seven Justices who participated in both decisions were consistent.  But the departure of Robert C. Grier, Associate Justice, and the additions of William Strong, and Joseph P. Bradley, shifted the balance.
