The Kingdoms of Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and Saudi Arabia jointly announce the establishment of the “Gulf Monetary Council,” which will become a regional central bank for the Arab kingdoms of the Persian Gulf.  The GMC will begin issuing its own transnational fiat currency called the “Gulfo.”  Chairwoman Nahed Taher, of Gulf One Investment Bank, one of the key participants at the meeting explains the necessity for the action, “The US dollar has failed.  We need to delink.
