While the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are stationed at 737 bases, in 130 nations around the world, defending “all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world,” Louis Caldera, Director of the White House Military Office, gives final authorization for a photo-op flyover of Air Force One against a backdrop of the Statue of Liberty. The low-level flight (only one thousand feet off the water) send many new jersey and new york residents, and tourists into a panic, who believe they are witness a replay of 9-1-1 (9/11/2001). The gimmick cost the U.s. Treasury 328,835 “dollars.”
Question: Could not the same task be photo shopped for much less cost on a personal computer, and without any public panic?
