The National Constituent Assembly, of the Republic of France, authorizes a new issue of 300,000,000 new Assignats (Bills of Credit), in addition to the 1,800,000,000 that had already been issued. 

       Postscript: By February 1796 black (free) market exchange rate between paper Assignats and gold Coin was 7,200 to one.
