       The pro-Washington (nationalist) First Constitutional Congress, lawfully elected (within the provisions of Article I, Section 3 [Clause 1]) confirms the election of former Commander-in-Chief George Washington, of the Continental Army, as President; and John Adams, former Ambassador to Great Britain, as Vice President.
