The Federal court for the District of Columbia decides United states v. Felt: the jury finds W. Mark “Deepthroat” Felt, retired Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation guilty of conducting unlawful searches in violation of Article IV of Amendment. Although Felt could have received ten years in prison, he only receives a 5,000 “dollar” fine.
Postscript: Less than six months later Felt was pardoned by Republican (fascist/socialist) President Reagan.
