While the United States Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are stationed at 737 bases, in 130 nations around the world, defending “all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world,” Democratic (socialist/fascist) governor Philip N. Bredesen, Jr., of the confederate state of tennessee, bucks his status quo party by signing House Joint Resolution 108, urging “C[ON]gress to recognize Tennessee’s sovereignty under the tenth amendment to the Constitution.”

NOTE: Were Bressenden truly concerned about asserting the sovereignty of Tennessee, we would declare its two United States senators to be unlawfully elected, and request the legislature elect two united States Senators, in accordance with Article I, Section 3 [Clause 1].  This would restore the legislature’s role as a participant in the federal government.

Republican (fascist/socialist) governor Sarah L. Palin, of the Federal enclave of Alaska, signs House Joint Resolution 27, serving “as Notice and Demand to the federal government to cease and desist, effective immediately, mandates that are beyond the scope of these constitutionally delegated powers.”

NOTE: While the editors applaud the idea the States reasserting their lawful sovereignty under the unanimous Declaration (of Independence) and the Constitution for the united States, they cannot help but be cynical by pointing out that less than one year previous Palin was the Republican Party’s nominee for Vice President, and it was only after control of the presidency shifting from her party to the Democratic (socialist/fascist) Party that she became an advocate of State Sovereignty.  A true stateswoman would have opposed the unlawful growth of Federal power immediately upon her assumption of office, and defied de facto President George W. Bush (having received an unlawful advantage of 43 ineligible Electoral votes) at every turn.

Postscript: Two weeks later Palin resigned as governor of the Federal enclave.

General Motors emerges from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection with 61% ownership by the Federal government, 50,000,000,000 “dollars” in new Federal loans.

NOTES:

  • As a reward for failure, the Federal government loaned GM another 57,100,000,000 “dollars.”
  • It is doubtful that the Federal government will ever be able to recover its investment in GM.  In order for that to happen, the value GM’s total outstanding stock would need to rise to 68,000,000,000 “dollars.”  At its recent peak, a decade previous, GM’s stock was worth only 56,000,000,000 “dollars.”  Even if the outstanding value of its stock were to rise to that level.  Selling any appreciable amount of 61% of a corporation’s stock would cause an immediate drop in its value.
