ELECTION DAY: While the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are stationed at 737 bases, in 130 nations around the world, defending “all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world,” republic of california voters approve Proposition 14 (YEA, 54%; NAY, 46%), replacing all party primary elections with a single “blanket” primary in which the two candidates who receive the most votes compete against each other in the general election–regardless of political affiliation.

NOTE: This places alternative candidates (Constitution, Green, Libertarian, et cetera) at a further disadvantage, and further entrenches the duopoly of the two status quo parties (Democratic and Republican).
