The first PULPIT FREEDOM SUNDAY: thirty-three pastors of 501(c)3 government-chartered, non-profit corporations, across the nation commit acts of civil disobedience by endorsing political candidates during their sermons. As a condition of their tax-exempt status they are forbidden from endorsing political candidates.
NOTE: While the editors applaud these actions by protestant and evangelical ministers, they are saddened by the types of candidates that are endorsed on PFS: fascist/socialist Republicans who promote militarism and dominionism. The editors seriously question whether any pastor who had spoken out on PFS mentioned the idea that a Christian-based political philosophy should be based on the Golden Rule.
