The King’s Bench Court decides “The Seven Bishops”: The Jury refuses to convict the seven-member Prelate of the Anglican Church (of England) of seditious libel—refusing to read the Second Declaration of Indulgence during Anglican Church services. Through Jury Nullification the Jury has suspended what they have determined to be an unjust statute, rendering the facts of the case irrelevant.
