While the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are stationed at 737 bases, in 130 nations around the world, defending “all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world,” the supreme court, of the corporate United states, hands down Exxon Shipping v. Baker: corporations cannot be held subject to punitive damages, only compensatory ones.

       Patrick Pogan, a New York City statute enforcement officer (acting under-color-of-law)—without provocation—throws a moving bicyclist to the pavement and arrests him.

       Postscript: Two years later, although a jury found Pogan guilty of falsifying a criminal complaint, judge Maxwell Wiley, of the supreme court of New York County, declined to impose any further punishment against Pogan.
