In Ramadi, Iraq tanks of the First Brigade of the First Armored Division of the United states Army (private mercenaries) fire on the Second Platoon of D Company of the First Battalion of the Ninth Infantry of the U.s. Army, killing Privates First Class Albert Nelson and Roger Suarez-Gonzalez.

Postscript: The Army unsuccessfully tried to cover up their blunder by blaming the two “friendly fire” deaths on enemy mortar fire.
