In Singapore, at a conference of the International Institute for Strategic Studies, Donald H. Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense, asks, “Since no nation threatens [the fascist People’s Republic of] China, one wonders: Why this growing investment [in armaments]?”

NOTE: The answer to Rumsfeld’s question is that he has been directing a military buildup in the area, the United States Pacific Fleet is the biggest in the world.  It has around two-hundred ships and submarines, over a thousand aircraft, and more than 130,000 Sailors, pilots, Marines, and civilians.
