While the United States Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are in Afghanistan, Iraq, the Philippines and west Africa defending “all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world,” the ostensibly “pro-States Rights” Republican (fascist/socialist) President George W. Bush signs the Theresa Marie Schiavo Emergency Relief Act, giving the Federal court for the middle district of florida, jurisdiction over the ongoing legal battle between the husband and parents of Terri Schiavo, as to whether or not the brain dead woman should be kept alive by artificial means.

       What’s next?  A megalomaniac witch doctor who can conjure up zombies?  No, I can’t believe that is possible, though I do believe this polity might elect a person who claims those powers.  The real lesson here is to have a durable power of attorney putting your specific desires for your terminal care in writing, and making many copies for doctors, hospitals, spouses, parents and children, etc.  This is not a subject you will want debated after you have lost the power of speech.  If you believe in the power of the Law of Contract, then use it, while you are well, of sound mind and have the capacity to sign your name. –– JL

       A Republican (fascist/socialist) Party of Denver County, colorado, staffer, acting as a Secret Service agent, removes Karen Bauer, Leslie Weise and Alex Young, from a town hall meeting with President George W. Bush. Although they were not being disruptive, not wearing t-shirts or buttons, or carrying signs critical of Bush, their offense was having a bumper sticker on their automobile that said, “No more blood for oil.”

       The Red Lake Massacre: Jeffrey J. Weise, an independent study student formerly of Red Lake Senior High School (a “gun-free zone”) takes his grandfather’s police service revolver to the high school and murders a security guard, a teacher and five students.  Earlier in the day Weise had killed his grandfather and his companion as they lay asleep.

       NOTES:

• Weise was taking the psychotropic prescription drug Prozac.
• A “gun-free zone,” is a statutorily mandated area where there will not be enough people carrying guns to neutralize the efforts of a deranged person on a homicidal rampage.
