The Central Intelligence Agency flies Abdul Salam Ali al-Hila, a Yemeni businessman abducted four days earlier off the streets of Cairo, Egypt, to Baku, Azerbaijan.

       Postscript: For the next year and a half, al-Hila’s whereabouts were unknown to his family, until the Yemeni Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan, received a letter that was smuggled out of Bagram Air Base. Afghanistan.  Afterward al-Hila was transferred to Guantanamo Bay Naval Base, Cuba.
