420: While the United States Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are in Afghanistan, Djibouti, Iraq, the Philippines and west Africa defending “all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world,” the Food and Drug Administration publishes “Inter-Agency Advisory Regarding Claims That Marijuana Smoked Is a Medicine,” claiming that Marijuana has no medicinal value. The report completely ignores the report a decade earlier—commissioned by the Office of Drug Control Policy—that found, after extensive research, that marijuana does indeed help with maladies such as Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), cancer, and glaucoma.
