President Trump has made it well known that acquiring [the Danish enclave of] Greenland is a national security priority of the United [s]tates, and it’s vital to deter our adversaries in the Arctic region. The President and his team are discussing a range of options to pursue this important foreign policy goal, and of course, utilizing the U.S. Military is always an option at the Commander in Chief’s disposal.
Question: Both the U.s. and Denmark are members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The primary purpose of NATO is a defensive alliance by all members of NATO will come to the aid of one member that is attacked offensively. Will the rest of NATO come the aid of Denmark if attacked by the U.s.?
