In an interview with Tanya Rivero, of Columbia Broadcasting System News, President Derrick Johnson, of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, condemns the double standard that the nation’s statute enforcement officers in dealing with Black Lives Matter protestors as opposed to supporters of Republican (fascist/socialist) President Trump:
The fact that … the Capitol Police, was ill-equipped to deal with what their stated purpose was, and it was to disrupt the certification of the election, that’s in stark contrast to the peaceful protests that we’ve seen in D.C. and all across the country, made up of individuals who look like America. You’ve seen black and white, young, old, male, females all peacefully protesting for justice and equity, and the response was as if they were criminals, and they were simply carrying out a First Amendment right to protest, to ensure that the public policy and the agencies that serve us … treat us fairly. And so there is some inherent bias,,, that we continue to talk about that is very clear and evident in ss than six months
NOTE: Although Johnson used the word “country” here, the editors believe that he meant to use the word “nation,” in which a central government, with almost limitless power, treats its constituent states as mere enclaves, provinces, or sub-divisions of its greater self; as opposed to “Union,” which is a union of sovereign States under a federal system, with a central government whose powers are strictly limited by a respected Constitution.
