United states Army First Lieutenant Christopher Gackstatter, commander of the Second Platoon, of Bravo Company, of the Third Batallion, of the 41st Regiment, of the First Brigade, of the First Armored Division, leads a squad on an intelligence gathering patrol in Sartok, Afghanistan.  Gackstatter is under orders not to interfere in the village’s many opium poppy fields in any way.

       While the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are stationed at 737 bases, in 130 nations around the world, defending “all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world,” judge C. Roger Vinson, of the foreign intelligence surveillance court, orders the Verizon corporation to make available to the National Security Agency, access to the private communications of all United states subject/enemy/citizens “wholly within the United States, including local telephone calls.”
