While the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are stationed at 737 bases, in 130 nations around the world, defending “all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world,” judge Donald R. Letourneau, of the Circuit Court of Washington County (Oregon), orders Benito Vasquez-Hernandez to remain in the county jail as a material witness.  Vasquez had already been held incarcerated for six months.

Postscript: Vasquez was finally released from jail two years later–for a total of 905 days–with a check for 5,750 “dollars,” and 232 “dollars” in Federal Reserve Notes, never having been charged with a crime.
