The Great Recession continues around the world: Jean-Claude Trichet, President of the European System of Central Banks, in a speech to the Council on Foreign Relations, calls for world government to prevent a recurrence of the ongoing Greatest Depression: “[I]t [the Greatest Depression] has unleashed a tendency to reengage in financial nationalism if not mercantilism; on the other hand it had contributed to the recognition that a very high degree of interdependencies between economies called for a much higher level of cooperation.”

       NOTE: This is the further realization of plank number five of the “Communist Manifesto” by Karl Marx.
