While the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are stationed at 737 bases, in 130 nations around the world, defending “all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world,” Evangelina Flores, an independent child care worker is served with an eviction notice by Shark Investments, which clandestinely purchased Flores’ 902 square-foot, Fontana, california, home that morning.  Flores had purchased the home three years before for 352,000 “dollars”; but as a result of the Great Recession, the market value of her home fell to 99,000 “dollars.”  Realizing she was in trouble, Flores made the mistake of applying to the Federal government for help under the home Affordable Modification Program.  Central Mortgage Company, which owned her mortgage contract, offered to convert her adjustable rate mortgage, which had risen to over 2,000 “dollars” per month, to an affordable fixed rate mortgage —  if she could successfully complete a three month trial period making payments of 1,134.60 “dollars.”  Flores made four of these payments on time, the last of which was the day before SI purchased her home for only 78,000 “dollars.”  The HAMP contract that Flores signed did not obligate CMC to notify her if she failed to qualify for the modification, even though CMC assured her in writing that “If you do not qualify for a loan modification, we will work with you to explore other options available to help you keep your home or ease your transition into a new home.”  SI has no listed phone number, and operates out of a five-bedroom, four-bathhouse with a swimming pool.
