While the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are stationed at 737 bases, in 130 nations around the world, defending “all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world,” Democratic (socialist/fascist) de facto senator Christopher J. Dodd, Esq., of connecticut, releases a public statement denouncing the more of than 168,000,000 “dollars” in bonuses paid to American International Group executives, who over the course of the previous year lost 102,000,000,000 “dollars” in , and received 173,000,000,000 “dollars” in Federal aid:

This is another outrageous example of executives – including those whose decisions were responsible for the problems that caused AIG’s collapse – enriching themselves at the expense of taxpayers.  A car mechanic or teacher in Connecticut shouldn’t have to subsidize the bad decisions of these executives. Executives at other companies receiving TARP funds have voluntarily foregone bonuses – there’s no reason why those at AIG shouldn’t do the same.

       NOTES:

  • Yet it was Dodd himself, the recipient of 103,100 “dollars” in campaign donations from AIG — the largest amount received by any senator in 2008 — who included language in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, signed a month previous that permitted AIG to pay these bonuses.  And it was Dodd’s amendment that made retrieval of those bonuses a legal improbability.
  • The issue of bonuses AIG paid out to its executives pales in comparison to the amount AIG paid out to foreign commercial banks: 5,000,000,000 “dollars” to UBS AG, in the Confederation of Switzerland; 7,900,000,000 “dollars” to Barclays Bank, in the United Kingdom; 11,800,000,000 “dollars” to Deutsche Bank, in the socialist Federal Republic of Germany; and 11,900,000,000, “dollars” to Societe Generale, in the Republic of France.
  • As an attorney (Officer of the Court) Dodd was ineligible to serve in two branches of government at the same time, according to Article I, Section 6 [Clause 2].
