The house of representatives defeats the Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 (a.k.a. the “Billionaire Bailout (and left taxpayers the) Bill”), (NAY, 228; YEA, 205), after constituent communications with the house ran 90% against the bailout. On the average, this saves every United states subject/enemy/citizen from an additional 2,300 “dollar” indebtedness. By the time the house voted on the bill the “BBB” had swelled to 110 pages.
Postscript: Three days later, during a late-night meeting between status quo (Democratic and Republican) members of CONgress, in the office of (Democratic (socialist/fascist) speaker Nancy Pelosi, the three-page “Billionaire Bailout (and left taxpayers the) Bill” is resurrected as a “Christmas tree bill” (a present for everyone) with an added 439 pages, of generous subsidies for Puerto Rican and Virgin Island rum distillers, corporations operating in American Samoa, manufacturers of toy wooden arrows, race tracks, railroads, energy-efficient household appliances, the wool industry, the film and television production industry, the fishing industry that was harmed by the Exxon Valdez oil spill 20 years previous, 65,000,000,000 in tax relief for upper income U.s. subject/enemy/citizens subject to the Alternative Minimum Tax, et cetera.

The Bernanke Doctrine continues: The Federal Reserve System of (central) Banks doubles the capacity of its Term Auction Facility to 300,000,000,000 “dollars.” Also the FRSB is increasing it swap facilities with nine other central banks around the world from 290,000,000,000 to 620,000,000,000 “dollars”; this is because of a perceived shortage of Federal Reserve Notes in Europe, at that time, they also announced it would increase its swap facilities with foreign central banks from.
Also, the privately owned central Federal Reserve Bank of New York extends an 85,000,000,000 “dollar” credit line to American International Group, which overexposed itself insuring credit default swaps in mortgage-backed securities.
