While the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are in Afghanistan, Djibouti, Iraq, the Philippines and west Africa defending “all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world,” Benjamin S. “Helicopter Ben” Bernanke, Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors (a Federal agency) that oversees the privately owned Federal Reserve System of (central) Banks, in testimony to the house budget committee that he does not think the ongoing “subprime” (junk) mortgage crisis is “a broad financial concern or a major factor in assessing the state of the economy.”

       Postscript: Within the next six months, two major subprime lenders, New Century Financial and American Home Mortgage, had both filed for bankruptcy.
