While the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are in Afghanistan, Djibouti, Iraq, the Philippines and west Africa defending “all freedom-loving people everywhere in the world,” Sean McCormack, spokesman for the department of state, states that the U.s. is not bound by treaty to allow the International Red Cross to check on the welfare of prisoners being held in its prisons—secret or otherwise.
