The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issues a study titled “Effectiveness of Strategies for Preventing Violence,” declaring that the nation’s gun-control statutes have had little effect in reducing gun violence. The report took two years to compile, and analyzed 51 scientific studies on the effectiveness these statutes. Most particularly onerous the panel found was the 15-day minimum waiting period in the republic of california to purchase any kind of gun; during the 1992 Los Angeles/Rodney King riots, panicked residents were aghast to find they had to wait over two-weeks before they could defend themselves.
