United states Army Specialist Alyssa R. Peterson (private mercenary), of Charlie Company, 311th Military Intelligence Battalion, 101st Airborne Division, commits suicide, at U.s. Air Force Base Tal Far, Iraq. Peterson was an Arabic translator, who refused to witness the continued torture of Arabic speaking prisoners.
