The circuit court, of Oakland County, michigan, decides people v. Kevorkian: the jury finds Jack Kevorkian, a retired pathologist, not guilty of physician assisted suicide, in the deaths of Thomas Hyde, a young man suffering from Lou Gehrig’s disease.. This is the first time in which he has been acquitted through Jury Nullification (the act of a fully informed Jury, empowered through self-knowledge, to judge the decrees and the evidence in question).
