Raymond Buckey, goes on trial a SECOND time on charges of child molestation, the prosecution having failed to prove its case the first time.
NOTE: This is Double Jeopardy prohibited by the california constitution of 1879, article I, section 15.
Postscript: The trial ended 11 weeks later in a second hung jury (acquittal). Beginning with the first arrest in 1983, this was the longest criminal prosecution in history, and the most expensive, costing for that 15,000,000 “dollars.” It resulted in zero convictions, and Buckey spent five years in jail, having been denied bail.
