Republican (fascist/socialist) President Reagan signs the Department of Defense Authorization Act of 1983, transforming the Rapid Deployment Force into the United states Central Command, the first such regional command created in the past 35 years. The mission of CENTCOM is to;
- Intimidate the Islamic Republic of Iran,
- Suppress terrorist organizations resisting U.s. military aggression, and
- Coordinate regional allied military efforts.
