Republican (fascist/socialist) de facto President Ford (25th amendment) signs the Energy Reorganization Act of 1974, splitting the Atomic Energy Commission into the Energy Research and Development Administration, to develop and produce nuclear weapons; and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, to inspect the operations of civilian fission power plants.
