The supreme court, of the corporate United states, decides california v. Miller, superseding Roth v. United states, nullifying the national standard for obscenity, instead allowing individual communities to define for themselves what is obscene: “People in different [s]tates vary in their tastes and attitudes, and this diversity is not to be strangled by the absolutism of imposed uniformity.”
