While the United states Armed Forces (private mercenaries) are in Vietnam, “united in determination to take all necessary measures in support of freedom,” Democratic (socialist/fascist) President Lyndon Johnson signs the Coinage Act of 1965, directing the U.s. Mint to issue coins made entirely of inferior metals such as copper, nickel and zinc, while completely eliminating any content of silver (lawful Money).  This permits the Federal government to increase its seignorage profits and expand the money supply.

NOTE: At this time Johnson was rumored to have said, “Silver has become too valuable to be used as money.”
