The Cold War continues: Republican (fascist/socialist) President Eisenhower signs house joint resolution 479, designating May 1 (May Day; International Labor Day) as Loyalty Day, a day for all United states subject/enemy/citizens to reaffirm their loyalty to the Federal government.  May Day was chosen as a counterbalance to International Labor Day, which is celebrated on that same date in the communist world.
