Republican (fascist/socialist) President Eisenhower signs the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1955, raising the minimum wage from 75 “cents” to one “dollar” per hour.  This makes it illegal to hire workers that are not yet capable of generating one “dollar” worth of goods and services per hour.
