The supreme court of the corporate United states decides United states v. Rabinowitz, overturning Trupiano v. United states, made just two years pervious: Federal agents are NOT required to obtain a warrant in order to search the immediate vicinity in which a suspect has just been arrested.
NOTE: Six justices participated in both decisions. Hugo Black, associate justice, switched his vote between the two.
