Prime Minister Raymond Poincare, of the Republic of France, orders the Army of France to occupy the heavily industrialized and resource rich Ruhr Valley, in Germany, after the Weimar Republic fell into default on its reparation payments to the victorious allies following the Great War (World War I).  The armies of France along with the Kingdom of Belgium will continue to occupy the valley and collect the payments directly.
