       The Wounded Knee (South Dakota) Massacre: Colonel James W. Forsyth, commanding the Seventh Cavalry Regiment of the Army of the United states, orders the lynching (execution without due process) of up to 300 defenseless Lakota indi(genous Americ)ans—including 200 women and children.

       Postscript: A decade later the Army of the U.s. would export these genocidal practices to the Philippines, where 2,000,000 Filipinos would be killed following their liberation from Spanish colonial rule.
