The Kansas Constitutional Convention of 1858 concludes its two-week deliberations proposing for ratification by the Electorate, the Wyandotte Constitution, the Bill of Rights, Section 6, of which prohibits slavery.  However Article V, Section 1 and Article VIII, Section 1 forbids freedmen from casting ballots or joining the Militia.
