The Utah War continues: Major Lot Smith, commanding the federal enclave of Utah Militia, raids the Utah Expedition, commanded by Colonel Albert Sidney Johnston, of the Army of the united States, destroying 72 wagons. Johnston was escorting Governor-designate Alfred Cumming, to assume the office from Governor Brigham Young.
