Master Jarius Loomis, commanding s flotilla of gunboats of the Navy of the united States, destroys Fort Nicholls (a.k.a. Negro Fort), in the Spanish Enclave of East Florida, commanded by Garçon. The fort was harboring pirates who made occasional raids into Georgia.
