The Reign of Terror continues—22 Prairial Year II: The National Convention passes the Law of the Great Terror, streamlining judicial processes thereby greatly increasing the number and frequency of public executions.
Postscript: Before the passage of this act the frequency of executions in the guillotine was on the average of three per day; afterward the frequency rapidly rose to 29 per day.
